Title: Guest 72 Hour Waiting Time
Just a reminder that if you don't sign up for an account - any new torrents posted to this site will not be available for a period of 72 hours.
To remedy this (so you can download new torrents), simply create an account and sign into the website from the computer you are downloading from!

Hello everyone - torrents were not available as the peers database crashed. It was a quick fix, but sadly I was out skiing yesterday during the holiday.

Title: Welcome to 2008!
We have had a good year, AoS was started in December of 2006. After a year of growth we have over 10,000 mixes online (including massive packs) close to 3500 registered members and a growing/healthy community of ppl that love electronic music.
I know that all of you will help contribute and help network the sound well into 2008 and beyond. For every uploader on the site, much thanks and I look forward to your many awesome sets to be posted this year. To everyone that downloads and listens to this music - keep spreading the good word as it's one of our best shots at bringing the world closer together.

Title: Guest Waiting Time and Banner Ads
If you are currently a guest on this system (or haven't logged in with your account) you will *not* be able to download any torrents that are less then 3 days old.
This was done as a measure to help stop leechers from attacking file and then not seeding once downloading (hit and run). This should hopefully make things more positive to the users that have an active account and want to make a contribution to the community.
Also, if you are not signed in or if you do not have an account - you will notice a top banner ad across all pages. Once you sign in, this top banner ad will go away.
Accounts are free - so why don't you create one and join us by uploading and participating in the forums? |

Title: Super Seeder out of CPU
All;
We are currently running into a resource constraint for the super seeder. It's currently running @ 100% cpu. The quickest way to upgrade this is to move to an e6700 processor from Intel. This should allow us to continue to grow without having to replace the motherboard, etc.
If anyone has wholesale connections for this CPU (and computer parts in general) that would be great!

Title: Super Seeder Speed Doubled
We just pushed a speed increase to the superseeder. It has now doubled in speed. This should make downloads of some of the archived sets a little faster.
Of course - please seed any files you have for as long as possible after downloading. This will improve the speed of all downloads. |

Title: New Block of Music
Just pushed out a new block of updates, and the super seeders gained some extra bandwidth over the weekend. Support this site by seeding what you download for as long as possible!
Currently this site uses about 15meg/sec - that's a fair amount of cash in bw per month. The more you seed, the greater this cost is offset and more music will be posted. Right now there is only 500 gig online of nearly 3 Terabytes of music in the archives! That's approximately 30,000 total mixes if we had the capacity to put everything online right now. |

The problem regarding Sunday availability was solved. Some of the logs were not being dumped fast enough and the disk was full.
I have since reduced the verbosity of the logs - and flush/rotate more often. |

The site has been running a little slow with page loads lately, so we implemented the Zend cache engine today.
After implementation and testing - things seemed sped up considerably.

Title: PLEASE READ - IMPORTANT
At some level, we will no longer be able to continue to provide free-for-all access. While we are still a little ways off from this, I want to make sure that as a guest/member of this site you know where things are going.
When we get near server capacity we will be closing the doors on new members. Once this is done, existing members who have proven themselves will be able to invite other members to the board. Much of this will be based on the uploads a member has posted to the site, and/or how much data they have seeded over time. We may re-open membership to the public on a periodic basis (for example after a new server upgrade) however there will be no guarantees that this will stay open.
If you find this site a good resource and want to continue using it after membership is closed off to the public, sign up for an account and work to make sure it stays in good standing by uploading/seeding quality mixes. |

Guys I just wanna say that you should realize when sprachgenerator(owner of tracker) gives you upload privileges..USE THEM. Realize that on other trackers. You will be lucky if they let you in the "circle" and upload to their tracker. Take advantage and give us what you have. Right now he is almost doing it by hisself. With the exception of a few. There are quite a few more posts to make, but I need everyone to seed as long as possible. The sooner the load is distributed, the sooner that more massive posts can be done. If you look at the extra stats, the superseeder has pushed 2 Terabytes to users like yourself in the last week or so.
The more seeders out there, the sooner more massive amounts of files can be posted.

I've had more problems then not with a particular *ahem* RAID card, it's drivers, and a few NIC card issues. As such, I'm rebuilding the box with a slightly different OS/Architecture that supports the hardware a little better then the existing configuration.
Shortly after this change - there will be a *MASSIVE* update to the site. |

The new system was put in place this evening and is currently replicating, downloads should get *alot* faster over the next 48 hours.
